In the classroom the course will take 6 weeks to complete including taking the exam. This is based on 2 days attendance per week. Classes start at 10am each day and finish at 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Studying this qualification online will take approximately 72 hours and most learners will complete within 6 weeks.

About the course

This course is run by our colleagues at The Finance and Management Business School.

 

The Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping is accredited by AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) and is ideal if you are looking to work in an office/ finance environment, gain a better understanding of finance and accounting or are keen to enhance your CV.

The course will give you practical, globally recognised, finance and accounting skills which employers want and will open doors for you in the finance and accounting industry.

The course consists of two modules: Bookkeeping Transactions and Bookkeeping Controls and you will be required to successfully complete and achieve both modules in order to receive the Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping.

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

Progression to Level 2 Foundation Award in Accounting Software.

How will I be assessed?

There are two computer-based exams, one for each module. You must successfully pass both modules in order to gain the AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping.  You will know whether you have passed each module on the day you sit the exam.

You will receive a grade of ‘Competent’ or ‘Not Yet Competent’ for each module.

Entry requirements?

You must successfully complete an entry test before you can enrol on the course.
